I struggled with the idea of creating this blog because of my strong desire to do just what God would have me do and the attacks that may come as a result. At the risk of being declared a heretic, I would encourage you to challenge your faith and beliefs. This is not an evil exercize, God will not strike you down and you may find that it will life-changing. I am in my fifties and it has only been in the past few years that I have een looking at what I believe and testing that against my layman’s understanding of God and Christ. The result for me is that I have seen way too many contradictions in what I believe and a common sense look at the Bible and the life of Jesus Christ. Everyone questions their faith at one time or another and if you are like me the guilt associated with this questioning prevented honest reflection. If this sounds familiar, this blog is for you. I am no Biblical scholar and I claim no special gifts or talents that would make me an authority on the validity of your faith. This is meant to be a safe haven for laymen, you and me, to share our thoughts and through honest dialogue, solidify our faith and learn to live a life as God intended.

As you read my blog entries, I am not foolish enough to believe that each and every one of you will be on board with what I say. Some will come to try to prove me wrong, others to deride and still others that believe questioning your faith is of Satan. Heaven knows that was the way I was raised, doubting my faith was Satan’s work. As you can probably tell…I believe no such thing. My motivation for sharing my liife and faith with you arose from my extensive work with teens as youth leader for a number of christian organizations and churches. It concerned me that no matter how hard we worked, students left the church as fast as they left high school. Was this an issue with them or was our message simply so unbelievable that when they had time to reflect on their beliefs, they simply rejected them as too hard to digest. My hope is that I can reach young people with a believable faith, grounded in reality and Biblically provable. It is not my intention to change your beliefs but to focus and strengthen them.

As you comment on posts, please be respectful and understand that I love God, no more but no less than you. You may read items that make your blood boil…that’s great…share…let’s hone our beliefs, in an effort to make our lives on Earth satisfying and fulfilling. It’s what God intended.
